There you go. Standing in line. Somewhere like CVS, which seems to always have crazy long lines and nowhere near enough cashiers (but they have those mile long receipts, and they coupon EVERYTHING, so who doesn’t shop there?) and it’s taking even longer than usual to pay.
How’s that? Well, it’s pretty simple (and it was so pronounced that CVS stopped using the EMV reader on their terminals when they have long lines in place, along with some other stores and fast food companies) – when it takes five seconds longer to complete a transaction using EMV, people think that it takes five MINUTES longer. And they don’t like it.
